Jacob Mendelson was an antique dealer with shops in the Tottenham Court Road and King’s Road London. He was married between 1923 – 1928 to Lilian Holt (1898-1983) who was a painter. They had a daughter Dinora Delores Mendelson (born 1924) who became a painter. After their divorce, Lilian married the painter David Bomberg (who founded the Borough Group of artists – after Borough Polytechnic where he taught - in 1949).
Dinora married in 1948 Sir Leslie Marr, also a painter, and they had a daughter Juliet Marr.
